Stepping into this Seattle lifestyle portrait session, my goal as the photographer was to create imagery that felt as personal and poetic as the writer herself. Together, we crafted a visual narrative that captured not just her likeness, but the essence of her creative world — a space filled with quiet inspiration, vintage charm, and intimate details. Something I thoroughly relate to as a New York City based photographer. From the soft, moody light filtering through classic old Seattle windows overlooking tree-lined streets, to the rich textures of her home filled with collected objects, worn furniture, and the calming presence of her two cats — every detail spoke to the rhythm of her writing process. This lifestyle photography session was designed to feel immersive, honest, and reflective of the quiet power behind her work.

“Being shot by Fred is always a great experience. He makes me feel confident and at ease being photographed, especially as someone who’s not used to having their picture taken. He truly has a gift, an ability to turn everyday situations into art with his camera. I can’t wait until our next photoshoot! 10/10 would recommend working with Grey Studios.”
